Week Thirty

I'm now into my thirtieth week and finally feeling like I've entered the home stretch! Between the number of projects left to finish and little things planned here and there—including a weekend away to this fabulous oasis...

...where we will do nothing but swim and sleep and eat—I'm thinking the time will pass quickly and we'll be meeting little Jude before we know it!!

I actually got to see our little man this morning at a check-up. The doctor offered to do an ultrasound, and she showed me his sweet face {chubby cheeks included!—I wonder if that will be the reality when he's born...} and confirmed the presence of his "family jewels". It's nice to know that there will be no gender surprise this go around; I've really enjoyed "bonding" with our baby boy, and it would certainly be hard to make that adjustment again!

So last week I challenged myself to finish the first of the boys' crib skirts by Sunday—a goal that I wasn't completely sure that I could hit. Guess what? I finished Logan's crib skirt on Saturday night! What a learning experience... The project probably took me 8-10 hours over Friday night and Saturday, in part because I was figuring out how to construct the thing as I went, and second guessing myself all over the place! I'm already working on the second one, but more gradually than the first. I think I should be able to finish it this weekend, though! Anyway. I'll share the final result of the first and some details about the process in my next post on This Beach Town Family.

Here's the belly this week. Please excuse the terrible picture. I blame the bad lighting conditions on the rainy morning, and the bad bedhead on the fact that I wore my hair "wavy" the day before.

With regards to the bump itself, I'm thinking it expanded upward toward my ribs rather that making much progress out...? I thought it looked more extreme last week!

I'm feeling good overall, though sometime I'm just sore. My lower back aches pretty often {I wonder if this has any connection to the fact that most of my pains during labor were in my back...?} and I woke up yesterday with a charlie horse in my calf—ouch!!! That spot still hurts.
