Week Twenty-Five

This and the next couple of weeks feel a bit like limbo; the third trimester is so close, but until that next marker there doesn't seem to be much going on.

In case you missed it on our family blog, we've picked a first name for our little guy—Jude! So I'll refer to him by name from here on out.

Jude continues to become more active each day. Sometimes I swear he's trying to tickle me from the inside! I've also been noticing some Braxton-Hicks contractions {where my belly (uterus) tightens up around him}, which I was completely oblivious to during my pregnancy with Logan. It's crazy to see my stomach turn into a hard, small ball. I feel a bit bad for little Jude during those incidents!

We've also been doing some work on the nursery, and high on the to-do list is to pick up a second crib. I've been delaying, though, because we got a great deal on the same crib for Logan this past October—$140 on Amazon—but since then Amazon has stopped selling it. Until tonight I hadn't seen it lower that $150 before tax and shipping, and I'm too cheap to spend more than what I originally paid! But I think my patience has paid off: Walmart just dropped their price to $135 and I can pick it up at the store {a mere 35 miles away—blah!} without paying for shipping. I can handle tax in this scenario. Sold! Our next project: figuring out how on earth to fit two cribs into a 10x10 room that has windows and/or doors on three walls!!!

Here's the belly pic this week. I'm not sure why I have a look on my face like I'm going to eat someone... oh well.

25 Weeks

Here's a new veggie/fruit comparison for this week {from The Bump}, as well as a growth update:
Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

Oh! I am looking for a crib right now, I can't decide if I want dark wood or white finish. Hmm. Anyways, I left a little something for you up on my blog :)
